Introduction

A place for IT Professionals who architect solutions involving Linux Operating System as well as other Free and Open Source Software (FOSS).

Over recent years Linux has become increasinly dominant as the *NIX flavour of choice for the corporate data-centre. Industry observers, cite the growth of Linux, as a big factor in the decline of other UNIX flavours. The software vendors are also taking note, if an ISV were to do a *NIX port of their application, Linux is now more often the first choice.

Given the growth, the need for Solution Architects who can talk intelligently about Linux is simply going to grow. Those architects who have had a long history with Linux, being particularly rare.

The intention for this site is to be a place to share my thoughts and experiences on architecting solutions using Linux, in particular for the medium to large enterprise.
